Alistair Brings It On and Gives It Five
Alistair Griffin made his solo Top of the Pops (TOTP) debut today singing his Number 5 hit "Bring It On", one half of his double-A sided debut single.
The other A-side "My Lover's Prayer" is a vocal collaboration with Robin Gibb; a cover of a track from the Bee Gees 1998 album "Still Waters".
Fame Academy fans should well remember "Bring It On" as one of Alistair's songwriting triumphs whilst at the Academy. When he sang it in the final show even grump-master Richard Park had to concede "The acid test is if the song gets into your brain, and I have to confess ...that got into my brain!" (Nice to know something is rattling around in there!)
Alistair has always loved singing his own compositions and he rocked on the TOTP stage, playing guitar alongside 3 other musicians.
Also on the single is another flashback moment, a cover of the 'Take That' song 'Back For Good', the song that gained him entry to the Fame Academy all those months ago.
