David Sneddon To Quit The Pop Star Life

David Sneddon, the popular winner of the first series of Fame Academy, has decided to remove himself from the limelight and abandon his career as a popstar, so that he can concentrate on songwriting.
Since winning the show David spent two weeks at number one in the UK singles chart with 'Stop Living The Lie' and reached number 5 in the album charts with his debut 'Seven Years - Ten Weeks'.
David's second single 'Don't Let Go' reached number 3. However his next single 'Best Of Order' failed to reach the top 10. His latest single 'Baby Get Higher' is currently at no. 38 in the charts (04.11.03).
It looks very much as if 'Stop Living The Lie' has turned out to be a little prophetic. David told the Daily Record "I have had a good year and I know what I want to do with my life. Being a pop star isn't it." He also revealed that he has already signed a publishing deal with Universal.
We at FameAcademyWatch.co.uk wish David lots of success with his songwriting, but we also really like his voice, so let's hope he decides to cut the odd record here and there!
