Alistair Griffin - Bring it on!

Date of Birth: 01.11.1977
Star Sign: Scorpio
From: Castleton, N. Yorkshire
English and History graduate and ex-busker Alistair has made it into the Academy on his second attempt, having narrowly missed making the final grouping last year. An accomplished songwriter, he half jokingly describes his music as " foot stomping anthems for the people!". Alistair Griffin sings at Brent Cross.
As he introduced himself during his audition show video montage, he amused viewers with his understated quirkiness. Alistair mentioned how he changed his audition song midway through the process. Initially he was seen singing the rather risque Third Eye Blind song "Semi-Charmed Life", which he described as being a bit "left-field" (if you know the lyrics you will know what he means!). Perhaps wisely, he switched to singing The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go" and made it through to the final 25.
During his televised heat he performed Gary Barlow's "Want You Back for Good" and despite getting a mixed reaction from the teachers on the panel the public were impressed with this ex-milkman's delivery, and they voted him into the Academy.
His idol is Liam Gallagher but Alistair's style is his own, he seems at ease with being himself. He also can be at ease being Richard Park, David Brent from 'The Office' and Jimmy Saville! He says he would love to appear on Top of the Pops alongside David Brent, perhaps he can get Jimmy to "Fix It for Him"!
Latest News:
Alistair is the Fame Academy runner up. He ran Alex Parks a close second in the final of the competition (on Saturday 4th October).
