Alex Parks - "I might just surprise you!"

04 Oct 2003: Alex describes her music as a mixture of Folk, Indie and Rock and her favourite musician is Ani Di Franco. "Cornwall really inspires my music", she says, "because I'm by the sea and it's got a nice vibe to it."

Alistair Griffin - Bring it on!

04 Oct 2003: English and History graduate and ex-busker Alistair has made it into the Academy on his second attempt, having narrowly missed making the final grouping last year. An accomplished songwriter, he half jokingly describes his music as " foot stomping anthems for the people!".

Carolynne Good - The Caz in The Hat

04 Oct 2003: Often seen stylishly donning a cap, Carolynne's quiet speaking voice and gentle personality belie the intensity within. That she has an immensely powerful singing voice was clear even during her auditions when she sang a rendition of Mariah Carey's "Hero" to demonstrate a delightful dynamic range.

Peter Brame - The Academy's Wild Child!

27 Sep 2003: Once you've seen Peter perform it is unlikely you will ever forget him! The stage is his playground and he compels you to watch him play. He describes his style as Indie-Rock but really the best way to describe it is "indescribable", you have to watch him, he's a wild child!. When you do, it is really kind of hard to imagine him in his former role of management trainee! It's far easier to visualise him doing his rock 'n' roll apprenticeship around the bars and clubs of Colchester.

James Fox - They're having a laugh!

20 Sep 2003: If you have been watching Fame Academy you are more than likely aware by now that James, 27, has been working in the music business for 12 years. This included a spell in a band with Kevin Simm of Liberty X (James is currently living with Tony Lundon, the other Liberty X chappie).

Paris Campbell-Edwards - Music is in my blood!

13 Sep 2003: Soul biker Paris really does have music in his blood. Both of his parents are singers. Paris himself has been concentrating on his singing since he was 15 years old. Lenny Kravitz and Prince have ranked high in his musical influences.

Barry McKeever - The Barryness of Barry

07 Sep 2003: A year ago Barry didn't really know that he had a great voice. After singing Karaoke he was encouraged by friends to take it further. He received more confirmation of his vocal skills after he successfully entered a local talent competition.

Louise Griffiths - A driven competitor

30 Aug 2003: Yes, with dad a London cabbie, and boyfriend, Jenson Button, the UK's top Formula One racing driver, Louise could hardly be more driven! Louise will be hoping that she also has the drive and the talents to go far in this year's Fame Academy.

Simone Stewart - Rhythm and Beauty

23 Aug 2003: English graduate Simone has a dream to sing like Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston. Well if you listen to her voice she is not a million miles away!

Gary Phelan - Born To Perform

20 Aug 2003: He's the cheeky chappie from Cramlington but 21 year old Gary is also an accomplished and serious songwriter with boy band experience.

Lorna Grant - I'll give it everything that I've got!

16 Aug 2003: Bathgate bairn Lorna wasn't expecting too much when she started auditioning for the Academy, she just thought she'd "give it a go". Lorna has a sense of humour and a bubbliness that shines through. She says she sings wherever she is, even in the toilet!

Nick Hall - Didgereedoo-be-do

13 Aug 2003: Test car driver and developer Nick is passionate about his music. He can play lots of instruments, saxaphone, guitar and harmonica, not to mention his didgeridoo! However Nick says that "Singing and songwriting is what I'm all about".
